Nalam Medical centre and Hospital, had its humble beginning on 7th April 2008. Started on world health day, the mission was to give quality care at affordable price for the people of Vellore. Though on its inauguration many people had the doubt whether it was needed and will it survive with one of the leading hospital in India providing its services very closeby. However, we did not have any such doubts as we felt we were not competitors but were providing an excellent secondary speciality service to the people and stabilisation of critically ill patients would go a long way in the successful outcome. There was also a need in the society for a hospital with good infrastructure.

Nalam provided that and its success today stands as the proof of our belief and also that if quality is provided people would give their full and whole hearted support. It will not be an exaggeration to say Nalam has raised the standard of care provided by all hospitals in and around Vellore and its success paved the way for many such hospitals to be built in this area.

It was started by team of doctors – Dr. R. Ashok, Orthopedician, The founder whose brain child was this project, supported by Dr. Narmada Ashok, Dr. Muthudurai, Dr. Suresh kumar, Dr. Satyanarayan, Dr. Suresh Babu and Ms. Amutha all being share holders of the hospital which is registered as a private company. The other share holders are Mr. Seshadri and Mr. Anand. The present directors of the hospital are Dr. Narmada Ashok, Mrs. V.Udayadharshini Muthudurai Dr. Subhashini SathyaNarayan.& Dr.Vanitha Suresh Kumar

The team also ensured that each of the speciality had consultants with vested interest in the projects thereby ensuring quality care to the people of Vellore. It had a humble beginning with 20 beds and now after 13 years it boasts itself of 90 beds.

Dr. R.Ashok has 20 years of practice at Vellore. An ambitious Orthopaedician determined to provide excellent and unique trauma care. Along with him is Dr. Muthudurai, with similar experience and passion for orthopedics
Our ortho department can handle any emergency trauma cases from fracture fixations to complicated neurosurgical emergencies
They are efficiently supported by team of orthopedic assistants, OT technicians and state of the art Operation theatre
We have dedicated neurosurgeon and faciomaxillary surgeon helping the team in trauma care
The SURGEON of the TEAM is Dr.B. Sureshkumar ,a M.S and FRCS (UK) graduate
Dr. Sureshkumar, Consultant Surgeon is a General Surgeon with specialized interest in Burns treatment and Endoscopy apart from the routines of General Surgery
